I'm Colin MacLeod.

I'm a musician, educator, avid traveller, Scottish Australian, and Celtic cultural music and storyteller who has spent the last 35 years helping several thousand students all over the world learn to peel back layers of instrument playing myths to share powerful ideas and insights with patient authenticity, a cohesive narrative, and a powerful point of view.  

I don't believe in formulas. There are a million ways to approach learning Celtic fiddle tunes by ear and playing from the heart and once you find the best approach for you, playing from the heart can begin to feel less terrifying and more exciting.  

I also don't believe in perfection. The things you think make you seem 'unpolished' or 'uninteresting' are often the very aspects of your personality other musicians find truly refreshing and fun! 

I can help you do more than develop your Celtic fiddle playing skills, whether you are a beginner or advanced player. I'll teach you how to truly have fun in a Celtic music anywhere in the world and play from the heart. Because that's what will build your self-confidence (and bonus: it's a lot more fun that way, too)!

You can exhaust yourself trying to be impressive. 

I know—you want to cover your fears, self-doubts, and mistakes and get your playing note perfect. I totally get it.  

When we're in a Celtic music session or on stage, what we are playing feels like it carries the weight of the world. Like it has the potential to make or break our credibility.
